英語的句子根據(jù)結(jié)構(gòu)可以分為三類，即簡單句、并列句和 復(fù)合句。

1、簡單句

一個(gè)主語和幾個(gè)謂語或幾個(gè)主語共同使用一個(gè)謂語的句子都是簡單句。

eg:

We have worked and lived in this city for many years.

You, Tom and I are to be on duty tomorrow.

The boys and girls playing over there are all from our school.

2、并列句

由并列連詞把兩個(gè)或兩個(gè)以上的簡單句連在一起所構(gòu)成的句子稱為并列句。

并列連詞有：andt but, or等。

eg:

My elder brother studies history at Beijing University and I study English at Shanxi Nor­mal University.

Summer is very hot but winter is very cold here.

You should take good care of your eyes, or you will get shortsighted.

The hunter looked around, but could see nothing.

3、復(fù)合句

由一個(gè)主句和一個(gè)或一個(gè)以上的從句構(gòu)成的句子叫做復(fù)合句。根據(jù)從句在句子中所充當(dāng)?shù)木渥映煞?可以分為主語從句、表語從句、賓語從句、同位語從句、定語從句、狀語從句六種。

eg:

It is a pity that you have missed such a good chance.(主語從句)

This is what I want to tell you.(表語從句)

The child asks his father how liquids can be turned into gasses.(賓語 從句)

The American boy expressed his hope that he would visit China.(同位語從句)

Even though the tailor made no answer to his question, Mr. Smith still waited until he had finished his work .(狀語從句)

A plane is a machine that can fly.(定語從句)
